In 2006, the National Council of Jewish Women collaborated with Jewish Family and Children's Services, New Israel Fund and Jewish Community Relations Council to create The Jewish Coalition to End Human Trafficking (JCEHT) with a goal to broaden the understanding in the Jewish community regarding the crime of human trafficking/modern-day slavery and to work toward its eradication.

On January 19, we gathered together with Jewish community leaders and local government officials and politicians to celebrate the JCEHT's 10 year dedicated work and recognize its founding organizations and activists. For 10 years the Coalition has been advocating on behalf of those trapped in modern-day slavery and educating the community about the need prosecute and punish the traffickers.

At this event we honored the winners of the 2016 Teen Poster and Writing contests. Youth from across the Bay Area will gathered to share experiences in anti-trafficking advocacy and prevention.Youth speakers shared at the event how you can help fight human trafficking in your own back yard and rescue the victims. There were many special performances, including one from the Regent Collective Dance Company from Notre Dame High School.

At this event, sponsored by the Jewish Coalition to End Human Trafficking, Dr. Shmueli, Israel’s National Anti-trafficking Coordinator, presented about the successful complex of anti-trafficking policies and legislative solutions that lead to the ranking of Israel as one of the leading nations in the global fight against modern-day slavery.  Dr. Andy David, Consul General of Israel to the Pacific Northwest, introduced Dr. Shmueli and addressed the audience.

*How are these nations addressing human trafficking in their own countries and what can we learn from their comparative anti-trafficking models? 
*What are the most important international aspects of trafficking here in the Bay Area? 
Mingle with diplomats of Mexico, Germany and Israel while enjoying the cuisine of each country and gaining insight into the international nuances of anti-trafficking.

Inspiring anti-trafficking awareness program of the National Council of Jewish Women San Francisco (NCJWSF) in collaboration with U.S. Fund for UNICEF gathered more than 200 parents, teachers and students at Our Lady of the Visitacion Catholic School San Francisco! Following the screening of Not My Life documentary, NCJWSF Board member, Federal Judge Marianna Warmee, NCJWSF Executive Director, Antonia Lavine and Chandni Jain from U.S. Fund for UNICEF presented about modern day slavery in the Bay Area.

JCEHT in collaboration with Shared Hope International presented a panel discussion and screening of “Chosen” (Click HERE for the trailer) to learn about the ways traffickers are recruiting children into sex trafficking, and how to identify and prevent such victimization.

Among the panelists were Laurel Botsford, Shared Hope Ambassador,Cari Herthel, a trafficking survivor, and Sergeant Antonio Flores, SF Police Department's Special Victims Unit.

NCJWSF organized a series of film screenings and panel discussions on human trafficking issues, most recently at Seton Medical Center in collaboration with the Mayor of Daly City, David Canepa. Our featured speakers included: Sally Lieber, Former Pro-Temp Assemblywoman; Sister Caterina Chu, Daughters of Charity; Nancy Goldberg, SFCAHT’s Co-Chair; Marianna Warmee, Federal Administrative Judge, EEOC; and Antonia Lavine, President of NCJWSF and JCEHT Chair. Mayor Canepa presented NCJWSF with a letter of recognition.
